The seven-member Las Vegas City Council is the policymaking body of elected officials of the City of Las Vegas. Las Vegas City Council members represent one of their geographic areas called Wards (Francis is running for election in Ward 4).
By a majority vote, the Las Vegas City Council makes decisions to enforce and enact resolutions for the operations of the management of the municipal government and the affairs of the City of Las Vegas. Council members serve a four-year term and are limited to a total of three terms. They are paid as a part-time staff person.
